Visit and Water

A visit from a world traveler! I met my sister, Linda, at the airport to see her during her two hour layover. We had a really nice one hour visit. I assume she made the connection to her next flight.

Then the day came for the water work to happen. I've been borrowing buckets of water for almost a week now. This job involved an excavator to do the digging, a person to do the tap into the city water main, a plumber to hook things up, city employees to install the meter, and the gas people to repair the gas line the excavator hit. They agreed to disagree about whose fault that was. I'll stay out of that one.

The finished front yard is not pretty. There is a dirt speed bump where I back up to turn around. Maybe I'll be able to smash it down with my car. One of my holly bushes may survive but the holly hocks are gone. They tell me the county will have to take out the old well head and seal it up and that fee will be for me to pay. Considering the whole thing cost about 3 times what I thought it would.....

The end result is -----------WATER. Ignore that sink full of dirty dishes, it has been a week after all.
