Collecting

I collect butterfly pins, pictures, etc. My friends and family know I collect these things. So for my birthday I got an amazing butterfly cake.

One of my favorite pictures I got at a garage sale. It's of a catapillar looking at a reflection of a butterfly in the water below. That worm has no idea he is going to become a butterfly. He just knows he is supposed to spin a cocoon and wait. He has faith. That's a simply way to explain things to a child - and to me.
On my big day I got a butterfly clock in an antique frame.

And the same person gave me this butterfly picture last summer.

A random picture of my refrigerator shows what sort of magnets are on it.

There are many other butterfly things all over my house. And the main collection of butterfly pins is on a banner in the living room. There are over 100 pins on there.

This is a pretty valuable collection also. My daughter, Lory holding Jaryen, beside Carson, (my two greatgrandsons) beside Jake with Charlotte and Andrea standing in back (Lory's children).

I got a birthday card from my step-daughter that said it pretty well - "And it's just silly to let something that happened so long ago upset you!" I got lots of good wishes and cards and chocolate and a massage pillow (uummm). Maybe I'll start having birthdays more often.

Gee, wish I had been there. I don't know when your birthday is, Kitty. And I didn't know you collected butterflies. Learn something new every day. I'll have to keep that in mind. When are you getting a butterfly tatoo?
