Collecting

I collect butterfly pins, pictures, etc. My friends and family know I collect these things. So for my birthday I got an amazing butterfly cake.

One of my favorite pictures I got at a garage sale. It's of a catapillar looking at a reflection of a butterfly in the water below. That worm has no idea he is going to become a butterfly. He just knows he is supposed to spin a cocoon and wait. He has faith. That's a simply way to explain things to a child - and to me.
On my big day I got a butterfly clock in an antique frame.

And the same person gave me this butterfly picture last summer.

A random picture of my refrigerator shows what sort of magnets are on it.

There are many other butterfly things all over my house. And the main collection of butterfly pins is on a banner in the living room. There are over 100 pins on there.

This is a pretty valuable collection also. My daughter, Lory holding Jaryen, beside Carson, (my two greatgrandsons) beside Jake with Charlotte and Andrea standing in back (Lory's children).

I got a birthday card from my step-daughter that said it pretty well - "And it's just silly to let something that happened so long ago upset you!" I got lots of good wishes and cards and chocolate and a massage pillow (uummm). Maybe I'll start having birthdays more often.

Great grandchild

Surprise, I had a visit from my daughter and her grandson, my greatgrandson, this afternoon. I even got to give him his bottle and he peed on me. How great is that.

Poor little guy only has one double chin.
The snow is melting and the mud has arrived. I have 3 dogs, that is 12 muddy feet, several times a day. Oh well.

Cabin Fever Doggy Style

This winter has taught me why penguins walk the way they do. The obvious reason is that their legs are short but they are also careful to place each foot flat on that slippery slope before putting their weight down on it. If you don't do that you can fall. Even if you do that you can fall. I've only fallen once this winter. Good on me. My response was the usual one. First you check to see if anyone saw you fall, then you get right up and act like you meant to do that. I consider the fall a test of my bone strength. So far so good.
This is a picture of a winter sun.

In this kind of weather I don't take the dogs for walks around the neighborhood. I have tried to get them to go up and down the stairs with me for exercise but so far they aren't interested. I would have to give them doggy treats at the top and bottom and I'm not sure that would be productive. So when the cabin fever gets to be too much they destroy their stuffed animals. That makes the inside look a bit like the outside, white stuff all over.

Then you take a nap in the bosses bed and try to look innocent. The one ear up and one ear down look helps.

Good one Red. Now I can get my exercise picking up stuffing.
