Grooming and Eye Drops

It is grooming time for the dogs. The first two pictures are "before" pictures. Teddy seems to only have one eye and no matter how often I comb and brush him he looks like an unmade bed. He gets knots in his fur like a long hair cat, no hair balls but he spends a lot of time trying to fix himself. There are ears in there somewhere and a cute face. Of course Silly always needs grooming, being a poodle. She is a special problem to the groomers as she is white and her metal tags stain her fur. They pointed out she was the only white poodle they groomed. I always give them a good tip in the hope they will be patient with her. I took them to two different groomers. There is one I can walk to but she only takes small dogs, so that's where Teddy went.

The "after" pictures show that Teddy has eyes and ears and a funny face. Red, who doesn't go to groomers except to get her nails cut, is checking out the new looking dog to see if he smells like someone she knows.

Silly is proud of being pretty. She got an extra short top on her head as I had tried to trim it with scissors and made a mess of it. That's okay as it will last longer before we have to go again.

Now, about eye drops. I have had dry eye for a couple of years and have fought the eye drops every time. Having to hold my eye open with one hand and trying to put drops in with the other hand became ridiculous. I finally got the idea of putting the drops in the outer corner of my eye instead of the inner corner. My unwilling eye can't see it coming so it doesn't blink. I don't even have to take my glasses off to do it now. I do it more often now and don't mind a bit. That's my household health hint for the week.
